(I.M.P.A.C.T. Award)

Award Description:
Goes to an individual or entity who is outside Animal Control (Senator, Vet, etc.) who makes an impact on the Animal Control field.

Criteria to be met:
1. Must go to an entity in a Non-ACO position.
2. Performing a task that is beneficial to Animal Control Officers in Massachusetts as we care for the animals within our communities.
3. Task performed falls outside of normal purview of the entities activity.

Paul Murphy Golden Bone Award
(Golden Bone Award)

Description:
Awarded to a Dog-Gone good ACO. In recognition of dedication and efforts to promote professionalism through Animal Control in your municipality.

Criteria:
1. The Animal Control Officer is actively involved in their community (events, trainings, career days etc.).
2. Serves as a role model to others.
3. Goes above and beyond the requirements of the job.
4. Must be a member in good standing of ACOAM.

Richard “Dick” Stein Award

Description:
Richard “Dick” Stein was the town of Canton’s Animal Control Officer for over 30 years, and he was a founding member of the Animal Control Officers Association of Massachusetts in 1980.  With the creation of ACOAM he became a driving force in the move to educate and professionalize officers within the Animal Control profession. Dick was there for the inception of the ACOAM certification course and he helped mold the course into one of the most in -depth educational opportunities available to animal control officers anywhere in the United States.

Criteria:
1. The Richard “Dick” Stein Award is given each year to someone who promotes professionalism of the Animal Control field through continuing education.

Description:
Presented to an entity or partner outside of Animal Control, performing above and beyond the call of duty, to assist with animal related matters.

1. awarded to an organization or an individual.
2. Must be nominated by an Animal Control Officer.
3. Demonstrated exceptional performance to benefit the welfare of animals in the Commonwealth.
4. Exhibited guidance beyond which is normally required.
5. Awarded to a government entity.

Description:
Awarded to an Organization or Department that demonstrates and lives up to and exemplifies ACOAM’s mission statement.

Criteria:
1. Department must have more than a single Employee/ACO.
2. Has taken an active role to improve the welfare of the animals within the Commonwealth (hold training class, perform animal rescue, etc).
